New beginnings... |

|
In this extended Christmas edition of KKP news, I would like to thank all of you with whom we have worked this year. In what has been a tough 12 months across the sector, we have enjoyed challenging and supporting you and are grateful for the trust and confidence you have shown in us.
Below, we focus on fresh starts - from our take on recent suggestions to test physical literacy among young people to the announcement that KKP is to manage and deliver Sport England’s new integrated Clubmark and runningsports programmes.
In the perspective section, our planner Chris MacFarlane offers his view on warnings that the future of thousands of playing fields could be under threat as a consequence of Government plans to relax planning rules, please feel free to add your comments.
In a similar positive vein, our current portfolio sees three local authorities working together to commission an area open space study and Salford Community Leisure Limited bringing in specialist KKP marketing expertise to support its plans to invest in new facilities.
We wish you a carefree, enjoyable Christmas and a settled, stable New Year and look forward to working with you in 2012.
John and the KKP team

Catch the latest from Cobbetts; one of our partners in the Public Sector Mutuals with the Co-operative group.
And finally; the late, great Joe Frasier was a man of few words. One of his longer quotes goes:
‘You can map out a fight plan or a life plan, but when the action starts, it may not go the way you expected, and you're down to your reflexes. That's where your roadwork shows. If you cheated on that in the dark of the morning, well, you're going to get found out now, under the bright lights’.
As the Games loom, it is vital that we all work effectively together to ensure that London 2012's legacy shines on when the bright lights go out! |
